Mumbai – Meri Jaan

In my first blog post from the travel section, I will be talking about the few places in Mumbai, that any tourist or even Mumbaikar must visit in their time in this beautiful city.

Gaining independence from Britain in the twentieth century, Bombay was recently renamed for an ancient goddess: Mumbai.

Mumbai, which is said to be the city that never sleeps, is the centre of attraction and a must visit for any tourist heading to India.

Mumbai Fun Fact: Mumbai’s trains alone carry 6 million people per day – equivalent to the entire population of Israel

Bandra Fort

With a birds eye view of the Bandra-Worli sea link, the Bandra Fort, lovely location to enjoy natural beauty. This fort is situated a minute away from Band stand, which is a prominent location in the area of Bandra. Other tourist attractions just in the vicinity are – The Mount Mary Church and Carter Road. (A lovely promenade, with a food street that comprises of mini stalls of all the possible cuisines you can imagine)

Imagica – Khapoli

If you are an adrenaline junkie like me, and need to have a little fun on your vacation, while bringing out your inner child then visiting this Amusement Park is a must! Imagica, in Khapoli is a 2. 5 hour drive from the city of Mumbai. The roller coasters, water park, ice-rink, diners and entertainment zones can have you booked for an entire day of adventure and guaranteed happiness.

PRO TIP: A pit-stop at the Mc.Donalds drive thru, is a must to keep your spirits and energy levels up and going. Imagica also has various offers running, so make sure to keep a tab of that prior to your visit.

Nariman Point

The Nariman Point, is situated at the Southern most tip of the city of Mumbai. This location can single handedly count as one of the best places to visit in Mumbai. The panoramic view of the boundless sea, with the rest of the hustling city in the midst is something I would not want to miss if I was a tourist in this city. (Best time to visit – Sunrise or Sunset)

Gateway of India


The Gateway of India, is an archaic historical monument, and a gate of significance. This architectural beauty is situated in Colaba, and is 2 minutes away from the putative Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. This is a buzzing photography zone, and also a port that is used widely to transport people through ferry’s and jetty’s to weekend escape locations of Alibaug and Mandwa.
